Ministries
Acts 2:45
The goal of the ministry is to help provide for some of the physical needs of our church family and individuals within our community. While our main goal is to provide opportunities for us to share and support each other in our physical needs, the ministry can also help us meet the needs of some individuals and families within our community and thereby provide opportunities for community evangelism. J.O.Y.
One of the treasures of the Philo Road Church of Christ is that most members are young at heart. Our J.O.Y. ministry is our Just Older Youth ministry. Our older members gather once a month for a meal, fellowship and encouragement. Sam and Angie Zahnd oversee this ministry. Our meeting places are made up of the church building, restaurants, or at famous places around Central Illinois (apple orchards, museums, etc.). This group just likes to have fun together. We check up on each other. We serve each other. We love each other. The only requirement to be part of J.O.Y. is you have to be over the age of 50.

Men's Ministry
The men at Philo Road get together for fellowship and fun from time to time. We enjoy an uplifting Quarterly Prayer Breakfast to encourage one another and pray for those in need. We also like to get together for dinner and movie nights. The Men's Annual Retreat is also one of our favorite times of fellowship. This is usually a weekend trip with a guest speaker, a delicious breakfast, and some friendly games. Did I mention we like to eat?

Women’s Ministry
Our ladies have a few different leaders. There are small group Bible Studies that our sisters enjoy. There are some special gatherings like teas, salad suppers, and times of prayer and planning. There are some outings planned each year that include plays, theater, travel, visiting popular sites and activities around Central Illinois. There is a place for you to plug in with our ladies.

Youth Ministry
Young people are an important aspect of every family, and it is no different at Philo Road. We offer classes on Sunday morning, as well as a children's library and various events throughout the year to help our young people grow in the Lord. We also have a very active teen program, with classes and special programs aimed at the needs that our teens face today.

Throughout the year, classes are provided for 7th -12th grade and the curriculum is determined by the specific needs of the students. Summer brings an opportunity to meet with other area churches in central Illinois at the weekly Summer Youth Series (SYS) where junior high and high school students gather to sing, fellowship, and grow in Christ.
